The California State Fair and SMUD are committed to our community and have partnered again in 2025 to help Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services do its exceptional and critical work supporting those who are food insecure in the Sacramento region.

Here’s how it works:

Check our list of the most needed items below
Bring five (5) or more non-expired, nonperishable items per person
Receive a FREE same day admission ticket, courtesy of SMUD!
Come to the CA State Fair any time between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on July 11, July 18 and July 25, 2025
Ticket must be used by 3 PM

Needed most desperately, are items that are high in protein. Seniors are particularly vulnerable to malnutrition, so items like peanut butter are a favorite! Other items that are particularly helpful to those in need are:

Canned meat (tuna, chicken, etc.)
Canned beans
Peanut butter
Soups and stews
Canned fruit
Canned vegetables
